The Committee aims to find out what can be learnt from a child’s or young person’s death to help prevent similar deaths from happening in the future.

The Committee reports directly to the Minister for Children, Youth and Families and provides an annual report to the ACT Legislative Assembly.

The Committee can also undertake other reports related to its functions and can make recommendations about changes to legislation, policies, practices and services to both government and non-government organisations.
